About HITSAA

Hindustan Alumni Association (HITSAA) has completed several years of active functioning since its installation in 1993. HITSAA is registered as a Society (Sl. No. 156/2014) under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 27 of 1975. HITSAA Office is situated on the campus and is operated by Alumni.

HITSAA acts as a bridge between the alumni and the University and provides a channel of communication for interactions of alumni with students and faculty. HITSAA Office manages Alumni Relations of the University which includes catering to the Alumni needs, establishment and operation of National and International Alumni Chapters, Alumni Reunions, the release of HITSAA Newsletter, and so on.

Membership of HITSAA is open for all graduates of erstwhile Hindustan College of Engineering (HCE) and Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), and all such people who pursued Short term courses, Certificate or Diploma programs from the University.

HITSAA has established the following Alumni Chapters to date.

International Chapter:

  • GCC Alumni Chapter (all the gulf countries)
  • Hindustan Americas Alumni Chapter (North & South America, Canada, Alaska, Mexico)
  • Hindustan East Asia Alumni Chapter (16 countries)
  • Hindustan Bhutan Alumni Chapter
  • Hindustan Australia Alumni Chapter
  • Hindustan UK & Europe Alumni Chapter
  • HEAAC – Malaysia Sub Chapter
  • Hindustan Nepal Alumni Chapter

City Chapter:

  • AP & TS Alumni Chapter
  • Delhi Alumni Chapter (North India)
  • Pune Alumni Chapter (Western India)
  • Karnataka Alumni Chapter
  • Kerala Alumni Chapter
  • Chennai Alumni chapter (part of HITSAA)
  • West Bengal Alumni Chapter (NEastern India)

HITSAA database is constantly updated in Alumni records. One or Two Alumni Ambassadors are instituted from each department to be connected to that batch of students.

HITSAA Executive Committee comprising Alumni from different batches meets every semester to dwell upon the activities undertaken, to plan and execute Alumni events for the forthcoming season. Department Alumni Coordinators and Alumni Ambassadors facilitate alumni relations of respective departments.

HITSAA releases its Annual Newsletter 'My Hindustan' every year featuring Alumni news, achievements, articles, and snippets.

Vision

To build a strong Hindustan Alumni network across the globe.

Mission

  • To strengthen alumni connections with their Alma Mater and with each other.
  • To systematically and steadily uplift the image and status of Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, both nationally and internationally
  • To become the voice of the alumni in all matters related to the betterment of the University.
  • To foster continuing professional/academic development of the University.
  • To project nationally and internationally University's contribution to numerous fields of education.

Alumni Contribution

Each Engineering and Technology student remit an amount of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) and Non-Engineering Undergraduate student remit an amount of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) along with their Tuition fee under the head ‘Alumni and Convocation Fee’.

From the above, an amount of Rs.2,000/- is contributed by each Engineering and Technology Alumni / Rs.1,000/- contributed by each Non-Engineering Alumni which is being utilized towards providing scholarships and welfare measures for socially and economically challenged students to help them to pursue their studies.

The remaining amount is utilized for conduct of Convocation and issue of Provisional, Degree, Transfer Certificates etc.

A total of Alumni contributions of Rs. 32,98,000/- have been contributed for 2021-22 Academic Year.
