About

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science assigns top priority to sports activities and encourages students who are sportspersons by providing them a complete scholarship for studies. The University has excellent state-of-the-art infrastructure for sports and provides professional coaching in sports to students. Apart from scholarships the university also completely sponsors the tournament expenditure of students.

Washington Sundar

We are proud of our student, Mr. Sundar who is an international cricketer. Mr. Sundar, also represented RCB in IPL 2018. We wish him good luck as he brings more laurel to the nation.

Our Eagles

Playing football with your feet is one thing, playing football with your heart is another. We fall in the second category.

HITS, is the only university in India to offer a full fledged Stable of Horses on its sprawling campus.

Students get to learn this unique and otherwise expensive sport of Horse Riding during their study. The club horse well maintained stable with professional trainers.

Students also participate in different equestrian competitions and many have won prizes too.

Basic Riding Classes are conducted early morning and in the evening. Students are taught dressage, show jumping and basic polo lessons

• State Level ABC & AV Trophy organized by Paramakudi Basketball Club, Paramakudi..
• Ms. T.Mohanabala, 4th year, EEE & Ms. T. Dharshini, 1st year, B.Com represented Tamilnadu Basketball women team and secured V Position in the 68th Senior National Basketball Championship organized by Basketball Federation of India held at Chennai from 6th to13th January 2018.

Achievements

• HITS Cricket Men Team secured the 3rd place in the South Zone Inter University Tournament organized by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka from 13 to 24 January 2019.
• Ten Cricket players from our University have participated in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) organized by TNCA
• Mr. Washington Sundar of 1st Year, BBA, representing Indian Cricket Team, bagged the “Young Achiever Award” given by the Rotary Club of Madras Chennai.

• All India Level Intercollegiate Tournament - Jimmy George Gold Trophy organized by IIT Madras, Chennai.
• Ms. K. Anupriya, 2nd year, BBA; Ms. G. Dhanalakshmi, 2nd year, B.Com; & Ms. S. Rajasri, 1st year, BCA; were represented Tamil Nadu Volleyball Women team and Secured III Position in the 20th Youth National Volleyball Championship at Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh from 2nd to 7th January 2018.

Annual Sports Meet 2018

Annual Sports meet was conducted on the grounds of the campus wherein various people participated and the participants were awarded prizes for the various competitions conducted.

PBA Camp 2018

PBA coaching camp was conducted by our members to coach and train the participants in sports. It was conducted in the basketball court on campus.

HIFI Sports Fest

The HIFI sports fest was conducted on campus grounds in which we saw multiple participants. International students participated in these events and competitions and were awarded many prizes.

South Zone Inter University Basketball Womens Tournament

South Zone Inter University Basketball Womens Tournament was held on the campus grounds giving telented young women a chance to test their mettle.

Tamil Nadu State Inter-University Basketball Tournament

This prestigious competition was held and hosted by the university where in multiple teams from various universities participated.

Olympic Quiz 2016

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, School of Physical Education and Sports organized Olympic Quiz programme by renowned Quiz Master Dr.Sumant Raman on 30th (Saturday) July, 2016 at Hindustan University Campus. More than 125 teams participated in the preliminary rounds and the final 6 teams qualified for the final round.

SZIU Cricket Tournament

The prestigious inter-university tournament was conducted in and by the university conducting the finals on a full sized ground making it one of the best events.

Dr. KCG Verghese Memorial Trophy

The 26th inter-college State level basketball tournament was conducted in 2018. We saw active participation and action packed games.

Chancellor's Trophy

The Chancellor's trophy is conducted by the university time to time to test and prove the talent of the university's students. Many competitions are held and prizes are handed out.

  • Bronze Medal - Senior Compound Men Event in 10th Tamil Nadu State Archery Meet organized by The Archery Association of Tamil Nadu affiliated to the Archery Association of India.

  • Gold Medal in Star Boxing Competition organized by Star Boxing Club, Chennai.
  • Gold Medal in Shine Boxing Competition organized by Shine Boxing Club, Chennai.
  • Gold Medals in Senior District Boxing Competition organized by Tamil Nadu Boxing Association.

  • Won Gold Medal in 60cm-70cm Show Jumping event in Inter Club Horse Riding Jumping Competition organized by the Madras School of Equitation, Chennai.

  • Represented Southern Railway Women team as a guest player and secured Runners in the All India Basketball Championship at Tirunelveli from 11th to 15 th August 2017. Ms. T. Mohanabala, 4th year, EEE Was awarded the “Best Player” of the tournament.

  • Represented Tamil Nadu Volleyball women team and secured IV Position in the 65th Senior National Volleyball Championship at Kazhilkode, Kerala from 21st to 28th February 2018.
