The Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Office of the Controller of Examinations is responsible for preparation, scheduling, and conduct of Continuous Internal Assessments & End Semester Examinations for all the programs offered by the institute. It also facilitates central valuation of answer scripts and timely publication of Results.
The other responsibilities are:
Issuing Semester Grade Sheets, Consolidated Statement of Grades and Provisional Certificates as and when candidates become eligible to receive the same.
Issue of Transcripts.
Preparation of Degree Certificates.
Preparation of Rank List / Gold Medallist Lists.
Providing Genuineness / Verification services to various stakeholders such as Government authorities, Corporate bodies, and Educational institutions.
Issue of Duplicate Certificates.
Facilitating revaluation and answer script seeing processes.
Conduct of question paper and answer scripts audit by both the internal and external course experts etc.

The e-Sanad is a platform created by Ministry of External affairs, aims at providing a centralized platform for contact-less, cashless and paperless document verification/ Attestation/ Apostille service for the Indian and Foreign nationals who obtained documents from Document Issuing Authorities (DIAs) in India and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.

Part B: Steps to be followed in e-Sanad portal
The user/student has to register and login in the e-SANAD portal http://esanad.nic.in
Select the issuing authority state as TAMIL NADU.
Select Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science as the document issuing authority.
Select for Non Pre-verified documents.
Fill the required details and upload the documents i.e. certificate (relevant document) and University Online Payment Acknowledgement Report (as supporting Document) in PDF format.
Then proceed to online payment for Attestation/ apostille processing fee to e-Sanad systems. The User/ Student needs to pay Rs.90/- per Apostile or Rs. 40/- per Attestation to the Ministry of External Affairs.
E-Sanad portal will generate its acknowledgement after the successful payment.

Transcripts
INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLY FOR TRANSCRIPTS
(Required for higher studies in foreign Universities)
Candidates shall apply for the issue of Transcripts in the prescribed application form available in the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
He/She should submit the application in person at the Office of the Controller of Examinations. If he/she cannot come in person, he/she shall send it through authorized person (along with a letter authorizing him/her to receive the transcripts on his/her behalf).
The applicant should have identified the Universities for which he/she wants to apply. The names and addresses of the Universities should be typed on the A4 covers, which should be submitted to COE office at the time of submitting the application.
Students should bring the required photocopies of the certificates and A4 cover. (Eg: If No. of sets of Transcripts required is 1, Kindly bring 2 set of photocopies)
The fee for issue of transcripts is Rs.2000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) per set to be paid in the Accounts Department of Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai – 603 103 or to the following Institute account:

The individual should bring the original Degree Certificate, Provisional Certificate, Consolidated Statement of Mark, Grade sheets / Mark sheets (All semesters), Passport size Photo and a proof of identify of the candidate along with one set of legible photocopies (both front & back side) in a cover. The photocopies of the certificates will be retained by the office of the Controller of Examinations after the issue of transcript.
Also they should bring photocopies of +2 mark sheet to verify the date of birth.
The applicant should submit the filled-in application for issue of Transcript, Receipt of Payment, Original certificate and photocopies of the certificates to the Office of the Controller of Examinations. The authorized signatory will sign the Transcripts & envelopes (in which the Transcripts are put and sealed) and the individual can collect the Transcript after acknowledging receipt of the Transcript Covers.
