Hindustan Andaman and Nicobar Islands Alumni Chapter (HANIAC) Inaugural Meet
The Inaugural Meet of Hindustan Andaman and Nicobar Islands Alumni Chapter (HANIAC) for the former students of Hindustan Group of Institutions was held on 16 April 2023 at Hotel Deliciaa’s Grillax, Port Blair. Around 40 alumni and their family members participated in the meet. The forum commenced with HITS anthem followed by floral tributes to the visionary leader, Late Founder Chairman Dr. K.C.G. Varghese.
Mr. Kamal, B. N., President – HITSAA graced the occasion. Dr. Sheeba Chander, Dean –SPADE represented HGI and chaired the event. Dr. Himanshu Shekhar, Prof. ECE and Mr. Pragatha V. S., Dy. Reg. (Coordinator – HITSAA) graced the occasion.
The Office Bearers of HANIAC are:
- President - Mr. Asish Ram (Civil -2012, M Tech-2015), Junior Engineer, Municipal, Council of Port Blair. Chapter
- Vice President - Ms. Anubha Devi (B arch -2016), Freelance Architect & Interior Designer.
- Secretary - Mr. Maheshwar Rao (MTech -2018) Entrepreneur and Member of the National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad, Govt. of India.
- Treasurer - Mr. P. P. Anas (ECE-2012), MD, Deliciaas Grillax.
The Chapter President and the Chapter Secretary welcomed the gathering and introduced the office bearers of the Chapter. Mr. Kamal was overwhelmed to meet the enthusiastic alumni. He explained the alumni activities conducted in the Alma mater (University campus). He urged the alumni to conduct many events and stay connected with the alma mater and contribute to the betterment of the HITS.
Dr. Sheeba delivered the special address and mentioned that she was too delighted to meet the alumni of HIET, HITS, and HCAS. She requested the alumni members to visit their alma mater to relive their college days. She conveyed her best wishes and the greetings of the Management. Dr. Sheeba emphasized on the importance of alumni networking and that the Institution looks forward to strengthen the alumni relations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Alumni interacted with each other and shared a few nostalgic memories of their college days with the audience. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Pragatha.
