The Class of 1997 came together to celebrate the 25th Reunion on 24 June 2023 held at the Bay Range Campus. Reliving their golden days, the alumni honored their patrons and mentors of the institution. Ms. Deepa (CSE-’97) and Mr. S. S. Murthi (CSE-’97), Core committee members delivered the welcome address. He extended his warm greetings to all the yesteryear mentors who taught the class.
Dr. S. N. Sridhara, Vice chancellor addressed the gathering and expressed his delight in welcoming the alumni after 25 years. He greeted and congratulated the alumni guests. He informed the former students of various achievements of the institution especially the recent IET Accreditation of nine Engineering programs. He emphasized on the importance of alumni in the development of the institution. The Vice Chancellor requested the alumni to contribute to the alma mater in terms of Time, Talent and Treasure. Dr. Angelina Geetha, Dean E & T welcomed the alumni and also urged them to share their expertise with students and faculty and also asked to contribute generously for the welfare of the needy students.
The daughter of Alumnus Mr. Yashoda Priya gave a Bharatanatyam performance followed by the children of Mr. Ramesh (CSE-’97) who delivered a classical dance performance. All the alumni introduced themselves and presented mementoes to their mentors.
Professors A. Chandrasekhar narrated about few of his students’ ordeal during college days and how they have transformed now. The alumni were delighted to hear him speak. Other Professors, Dr. Ravikumar Solomon, Dr. Meikandan, Dr. Dakshinamoorthy, Dr. Manjula Pramod, Dr. Uma Mageswari, also shared few memories with the alumni.
The event was co-organized by Ms. Pragatha Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, HITSAA. The Alumni Office requested the alumni to register in the alumni portal and also in the Alumni Chapters installed in their respective regions.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Murthi. The lunch was served in Executive dining hall after the photo session. The alumni had great fun in visiting their classrooms and walking around the Bay Range Campus.
