About the Department

Hindustan University offers unparalleled resources to the research community, including libraries, laboratories, and research centers to support scholarly work in nearly any field or discipline.

The Centre for Research and Consultancy has been established to promote research culture and to give impetus to Sponsored research and consultancy activities in addition to the academic research.Researchers include full time scholars, part time scholars, faculty members, and graduate and undergraduate students, and they collaborate with colleagues across the University, at affiliated institutions, and at other research institutions.The Centre is headed by Director (Research) and assisted by Research Coordinators.

The Centre has evolved policies for Sponsored Research, Consultancy and IntellectualProperty Rights.The primary objective of the CRC is to enhance and enrich research programmes, facilitate and support multi-disciplinary research proposals,promote Institute-industryinteraction through assistance of:

  • Developing and nurturing international linkages for research and development.
  • Organizing Generic Training Programmes for Research Scholars.
  • Colloquium for Research Scholars.
  • Fostering of relationships with funding agencies to better understand research priorities
  • To facilitate project proposal preparation and submission, in establishment of project accounts, review for large, complex projects.
  • Support Short-term courses/Seminars/Workshops for effective dissemination of knowledge.
  • Organizing Lectures by Eminent Scientists from various R&D Organizations.
  • Establishing connectivity between Faculty and Scientists of various R&DOrganizations and Industry through visits.
  • To improve the Institute-Industry interaction and provide need based technology to existing industries.
  • Identifying and protecting intellectual property.

The University’s Centre for Research and Consultancy (CRC) is a service unit under the Office of the Director(Research). It provides valuable support in fulfilling the University’s Vision-Mission through its programs and services. CRC promotes and nurtures a culture of genuine intellectual inquiry, advances inter-and multi-disciplinary studies, and serves as a clearinghouse for information related to faculty research activities on campus, among others, in support of this Vision-Mission.

Its Programs and Services

  • administers the Academic Research Program
  • monitors externally-funded projects under taken by the different departments and research centers
  • disseminates salient findings of completed researches
  • provides project development and implementation assistance
  • documents and assists in the formulation, review, and amendment of guidelines and policies governing research in the University

The Centre for Research & Consultancy is headed by Director (Research) and assisted by Dean (Research) and Four Research Coordinators looking after Academic Research, Generic Training Programme, Funded Research, Consultancy respectively and an IPR Coordinator managing IP related issues.
