Vinadi Vina – a quiz competition was jointly organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, HITS Alumni Association and HITS AACE Students Chapter. The level 2 of  Vinadi Vina Quiz was conducted online on 4th September 2021.

The Quiz Master for the event was Ms. Ms. Bhagya S. Nair, AP(SG), Civil, Project Management, Bengaluru Airport City Ltd and Secretary AACE India Section. Bhagya is a post graduate in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. She is presently working as Assistant General Manager - Projects at the Bengaluru Airport City, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bangalore International Airport. She conducts training programs for young engineers through professional bodies and is currently serving the position of Secretary - AACE INDIA SECTION, a not-for-profit body working on the area of cost engineering.

Dr. Samuel read the rules and regulations for the participants. The quiz was conducted by Ms. Bhagya and Ms. Lindsay, final year Mechanical student maintained a smooth flow of questions between the Quiz Master and participants and also maintained the scores.

There were 2 rounds with 14 + 14 questions on Project Management. Students were from different disciplines, Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical and CSE programmes participated enthusiastically. A total of 18 teams had registered with 3 students in each team. Around 11 teams participated. The final scoreboard:

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Samuel J. He acknowledged the kind support offered by the Chancellor, Pro Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor Sir, Director, Dr. Ashok G. Verghese Sir, Director, Dr. G. Ilavazhagan Sir, Dr. V. Preethi, HOD, Civil Eng’g Dept., Deans, HoDs, Faculty, students, the quiz participants, AACE-HITS student Chapter Office bearers and members. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. V.S. Pragatha, Coordinator – HITSAA. She thanked the AACE President, Mr. Sivakumar, Mr. Sankar S, Director, Reg 8, AACEi, Mr. Ramapriya VP –Technical, AACE India, Mr. Sridhar, Reg. Director, South, AACE India, HITS dignitaries, Faculty and students for participating in the quiz. She also appreciated the SPOC, Dr. Samuel J, AP(SG), Civil & the AACE HITS taskforce team for the Quiz programme.
