Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science observed the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day between11 and 14 August 2022.
The event was inaugurated by Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri Dr.A Sivathanu Pillai, Father of Brahmos Aerospace. He unveiled a poster of PHRD and addressed the gathering. In his speechhe informed of the75 Students’ Satellite Mission 2022. He also quoted the K C G Verghese Satellite. He motivated students to actively participate in research to explore the new avenues.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. S. N. Sridhara, Vice-Chancellor. He recollected the significance of observing and remembering the day of partition. Vice-Chancellor also restated UGC’s statement which mentions that sentiments of any section of society should not be hurt. Dr.Pon Ramalingam, Registrar addressed the gathering by mentioning the sacrifice, and agony the people went through during this mass people movement.
Around 120 students and 25 faculty members attended the event at Jubilee Block Ground Floor.Mr Nithin Thomas, Vice President Hindustan Student Council, delivered the vote of thanks.The event closed with National Anthem.
