The Department of Computer Science Engineering, HITS organized an Orientation on Cyber Jagrookta Diwas as per directions of AICTE. The event aimed at educating the school and college students to fight against cybercrime. It also aims at creating a social awareness on the steps takes by the government to curtail cybercrime through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.
Cyber Jagrookta Diwas Orientation was held at HITS on 20 September 2022. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. S. N. Sridhara, Vice-Chancellor, HITS. His speech enlightened the students on the ways to protect themselves from cybercrime. The resource persons for the day were Dr. Thangakumar. J, Head, Department of Computer Science Engineering and Dr Sudalaimuthu T, Head IQAC. They briefed the students on the threats and ways to curb cybercrime.
Dr. Pon Ramalingam, Registrar and Dr. Angelina Geetha, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology delivered the special address. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Thangakumar. J, Head, Department of Computer Science Engineering. The second-year students of CSE enacted a role play on “How to deal the Cyber Crime”. Students took up the oath to protect themselves from cybercrime. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Mr Gowdham C, Assistant Professor, CSE, HITS.
