About the department
The department of Mathematics under the School of Basic and Applied Sciences was established in 1985. The department integrates all the programs of Engineering and Applied Sciences by imparting the courses on Mathematics in UG and PG level and emphasizes a balanced approach, integrating rigorous theoretical study with practical application in science, engineering, economics, and data analysis.
The department offers BSc Mathematics and Data Science, MSc Mathematics (Integrated) and Ph. D program. Faculty members are dedicated educators and active researchers, often engaged in interdisciplinary projects and contributing to advancements in pure and applied mathematics. Students are encouraged to participate in research, internships, and mathematics competitions to enhance their learning experience.
The objective of the department is to train students in the innovative field of Applied Mathematics inculcating the concepts of computing, optimizing, grouping, classifying, testing and applying various tools of Mathematics in the field of Engineering and Technology.
