About the Course

M.Sc. Applied Psychology is offered with specialization in - Counseling & Psychotherapy. The programme balances theoretical understanding, applied knowledge and relevant skill building.
Students apply classroom and theoretical learning in schools, hospitals and organizations through internships, projects and case studies.
Skill based courses are offered in Counseling and Behaviour Modification. The students are trained to administer various psychological tests and are encouraged to use the skills learnt by conducting projects, workshops and seminars. 
Experts in the field are invited for lecturers, which enable the students to gain a broader perspective on the scope of the subject.

Syllabus

M.Sc Applied Psychology syllabus is a two-year-long postgraduate degree that introduces students to all the vital aspects of the application of psychological studies in several real-life scenarios and trains the graduates on psychological studies of organizations and industries. Some of the M.Sc Applied Psychology subjects include General Psychology, Clinical Training: Experimental Psychology, Theories of Personality and more.

The syllabus for M.Sc Applied Psychology is divided into four semesters and aims to create trained Psychologists to develop efficient solutions to reduce the effect of trauma and pessimistic events that directly affect the mental health of people. As part of the course, there are  core and elective subjects.

When pursuing the M.Sc Applied Psychology course, students need to submit a research project as part of their interdisciplinary learning. The M.Sc Applied Psychology project ideas for the students are decided on the basis of the different specializations that they choose to pursue.  Project topics  undertaken by the students can be related to any specialization in Psychology  according to the students interest.

PH.D IN PSYCHOLOGY

The PhD in Psychology degree gives you the opportunity to develop a broad base of knowledge, strong research and critical thinking skills, and an appreciation for diversity as you work to apply principles of psychology and conduct research related to your area of interest.
It represents a significant and original contribution to the understanding of Psychology. This may be through the discovery of something new, the connection of previously unrelated facts, or the development of a new theory, taking into account all previously published work on the subject.

Eligibility:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Biology, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences.  All candidates need a minimum score of 55% in their respective degrees.
