Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science hosted YARONA ’26, its grand inter-departmental cultural festival, on 14th March 2026, bringing together students from across all departments for a day of vibrant competition and celebration. The event was conducted across multiple venues on campus and concluded with a spectacular Grand Cultural Night at the Bay Range Campus.
The festival aimed to promote cultural unity, creativity, and student engagement within the university. Organized by the management under the guidance of the Student Affairs department, with active coordination by the HITS Student Council, YARONA ’26 served as a dynamic platform for showcasing talent across diverse disciplines.
The event commenced at 9:30 AM with a wide range of competitions conducted simultaneously across venues. Students actively participated in events spanning Dance, Music, Fashion, Arts, Media, Games, and Fun Zone activities, demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and competitive spirit throughout the day.
The campus was filled with energy and enthusiasm as performances and competitions unfolded across stages, auditoriums, and activity zones. Events such as dance battles, ramp walks, music performances, creative arts, and interactive games highlighted the diverse talents of students and encouraged active participation.
The evening marked the Inauguration Ceremony and Trophy Reveal, where the official YARONA trophies were unveiled in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, symbolizing excellence and achievement across departments. This was followed by the Grand Cultural Night, featuring engaging celebrity interactions with actors Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan, Deepak Dinkar, V. Sriganesh, and N.P. Ajith Kumar, who energized the audience with their presence and interaction.
The celebration continued with a vibrant live performance by Thekkinkadu Aattam Kalasamithi, showcasing traditional cultural art, followed by a high-energy DJ performance by DJ Zen, which brought the event to an electrifying close, complemented by a fireworks display.
The highlight of YARONA ’26 was the announcement of the winners, where the Department of Aeronautical Engineering secured the Overall YARONA Trophy, followed by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering as Runner-Up, while SPADE won the Grand Ethnic Parade Trophy, and the Department of Fashion Technology received the Involvement Trophy.
YARONA ’26 was a grand success, reflecting the spirit of unity, creativity, and student excellence. The festival provided a vibrant platform for intra-university interaction and cultural expression, leaving behind memorable experiences and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic student development.
