The inaugural session of day 1 commenced with an invocation by Rev. Justin Jose, Student Chaplin followed by Thamizh Thai Vazhthu. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Muthukumar Subramanian, Registrar who highlighted the importance of Induction and Bridge course and insisted that students take up their academics with diligence from day one.
Dr. S. N. Sridhara Vice Chancellor in his address highlighted the salient features of the Institution. He informed the students about the various opportunities available for them at HITS and requested the students to make best use of them. He instructed the students to maintain strict discipline and focus on their career.
The chief guest of the event was Mr. S. Senthil Kumar, an alumni of 1996 Batch from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is the Co-founder & CEO, WINTECH POLYSOL Pvt. Ltd. INFINEON Poly Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. He addressed the students on the importance of perseverance and goal setting. He shared his experience and also pointed out the importance of good academic performance for establishing a strong lifelong career.
The senior students shared their learning experiences. Mohammad Munavar Hussain, from Aerospace Engineering, Seventh Semester, shared his experience about semester exchange program abroad. He briefed on the advantages of taking up semester exchange program and the rich knowledge gained. Mr. Sourav Dasharath Pandere, from Computer Science Engineering, second semester shared his experience as a football player and the many opportunities Hindustan is offering through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The inaugural event came to an end with a thank you note from Dr. Angelina Geetha, Dean, Engineering and Technology.
The next session was handled by Dr. Angelina Geetha, Dean Engineering and Technology. The guidelines for effective classroom teaching learning process were briefed. In addition, the students were instructed about discipline and dress code to be followed on the campus.
Dr. K. S Shaji, Dean Student Affairs briefed the students about the various facilities in the campus for the benefits of the students. She also explained about the counseling facility in the campus and encouraged the students to be active, explore and achieve excellence.
The afternoon session started with the address of Dr. Kezi Selva Vijila, Controller of Examinations. The assessment procedures and the importance of academic excellence were highlighted.
The activities and facilities available at Hindustan Technology Business Incubator (HTBI) were presented by Dr. K. Sakthidasan, Associate Professor and Coordinator of HTBI.
The outreach activities carried out by the students were presented as a short documentary by Mr. Gnanasekar, NSS and Outreach coordinator. The sports facilities and various opportunities to take part in various sports activities was presented by Dr. B. Selvamuthukrishnan, Professor and Head of Physical education Department.
Ms. Kavitha Vijayaraghavan, Head of Placement and Training gave a detailed presentation about the activities of the Placement cell and insisted on the importance of acquiring the required skill sets for very good placement opportunities. She also highlighted the noteworthy placement offers the past students have received.
The inaugural session of day 2 commenced with a prayer offered by Dr. Mahiban Lindsay, Faculty of EEE Department followed by the rendering of our State Song Thamizh Thai Vazhthu.
Dr. Muthukumar Subramanian, Registrar, welcomed the students for the Induction program. He highlighted the importance of college level education. He advised the students to take active role in all the activities of the department and Institution as this will aid in overall personality development.

He insisted on academic discipline and encouraged students to focus on practical oriented learning. He informed the students to make use of the opportunities and strive to be the best in all that they do.
The chief guest of the event Dr. M. Rajaram, IAS (Retd.) Non Judicial Member, Tamil Nadu Lokayukta, Chennai, delivered a motivational speech with many illustrations and anecdotes. He emphasized the need for all round development with good academic performance.

She also encouraged the students to proceed with such international programs. Ms. Praythuksha Nair, from Computer Science Engineering, seventh semester briefed on all the additional facilities and infra structure available on campus to upskill their talents.
