The National Unity Day 2025

The National Unity Day 2025 Celebration was successfully conducted on 31st October 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Good Shepherd Hall, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. The programme was organized by Counselling and Mental WellbeingCell to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and the architect of national integration. The event aimed to instill the values of unity, integrity, and patriotism among students and faculty members.

The programme began with a solemn prayer by Rev. Justin Jose, Student Chaplain, followed by the Thamizh Thai Vazhthu, honoring the cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu. A warm Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Deffrine, emphasizing the significance of National Unity Day and the relevance of Sardar Patel’s ideals in contemporary society. The Presidential Address by Dr. S. Ganesan, Vice Chancellor, highlighted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s monumental role in unifying the nation and strengthening India’s democratic framework.

The distinguished Chief Guest, Lt. Gen. Bobby Mathews (Retd.), Executive Director, Hindustan International School, was formally introduced by Ms. Mounika. In his inspiring address, Lt. Gen. Bobby Mathews reflected on Sardar Patel’s visionary leadership, discipline, and unwavering commitment to national integration. He also shared insights on nation-building and leadership, motivating students to uphold values of responsibility, patriotism, and collective effort.

As part of the celebrations, a Prize Distribution Ceremony was held to honor the winners of the Painting Competition on the theme of National Unity, encouraging creative expression among students. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Mounika, acknowledging the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for their contributions.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a vibrant Unity Rally organized in collaboration with NSS and NCC students, which moved across the campus spreading the message of unity and national integration. Overall, the National Unity Day 2025 celebration was meaningful and inspiring, successfully reinforcing the spirit of togetherness, patriotism, and national pride among the university community.
