Students form the MBA stream attended in the MMA-KAS discussion titled “Trillion Dollar Digital Economy” based on the theme of the book “India’s IT Revolution – The Maverick Effect”. The book focuses on the subject of India's IT revolution: Decoding the Maverick Effect authored by Mr Harish S Metha. The forum was held at the MMA House, Chennai on 17 June 2022. The students had an opportunity to directly interact and learn from the industry veterans on a very pertinent theme.
The event brought in varied perspectives towards the changing landscape of IT revolution. In this exceptionally written book, the author provides his unique insights on the tireless efforts it took to set up NASSCOM, which played a pivotal role in enhancing the IT sector's global brand image and in helping create the great Indian middle class. The author quotes “nothing is possible without men, but nothing lasts without institutions” and uses it as an allegory to talk about NASSCOM. He presents the untold tale of NASSCOM, where fierce competitors worked collaboratively together to shape the future of an industry that created millions of jobs, solved the foreign exchange crisis and put Indian enterprise and technology on the world stage.
