International Study Tour To Malaysia

Our international Study Tour to Malaysia was arranged between 26 and 30 November 2018 by HITS. I was in charge of 23 students from MBA department. Our trip took us to three industrial sites namely, Yakult, Royal Selangor, Harriston Boutique; and UCSI University and University of Malaya.

Yakult is a  probiotic  milk beverage  fermented  with the  bacteria  strain  Lactobacillus paracasei  Shirota, first isolated from the human intestine by Japanese scientist  Minoru Shirota  in the 1930s. Royal Selangor is the world's largest Pewter Factory recognized by the  Guinness Book of Records . Harriston Boutique is a Malaysian home grown brand established by a family of dedicated chocolate makers who owns Harriston Signature, Harriston Boutique and Harriston Artisan. From the above industries, we learnt various production techniques, operations, skills and new ideas of the functioning of modern business. UCSI University is a comprehensive university in  Kuala Lumpur ,  Malaysia . Ranked 481 in the 2019  QS World University Rankings , UCSI stands out as Malaysia's best  private university .  The University of Malaya is a  public   research university in  Kuala Lumpur and is the oldest and most prestigious university in Malaysia. In 2018, the  QS World University Rankings  ranked University of Malaya at the 87th place in the world, 19th place in Asia, 3rd in Southeast Asia and the top-ranked learning institution in Malaysia.

We had great interactive sessions with the functionaries of the institutions by visiting these universities. They explained us about the rankings, various programmes and facilities offered by the universities. And also, the mobility exchange programmes between students and staff and they expressed their willingness to sign MOU with HITS.

Apart from the global learning through universities & industries we also had an opportunity for sightseeing and shopping at various places like Batu Caves, Istana Negara, KL Tower, Petronas Twin Tower, Kuala Lumpur Bridge, Independence Square, Central Market, China Town, Times Square Shopping Mall etc., all these carry a great trait of an Indo – Malaysian cultural exchanges between our two countries. Our visit to these places were filled with learning experience as well as fun. Students were well-exposed to new learning techniques, skills and operation manoeuvres involve in some of the sites we visited. We hope it would have a significant positive bearing on our future life too. I am grateful to the management for arranging us such a wonderful educational trip in learning business world.
