Inter Village-Volleyball Tournament was organized by the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Team of HITS along with the Rotaract Club of Hindustan University on 22 April 2023 at Padavattamman Koil Street, Thiruporur. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. S. N. Sridhara, Vice Chancellor, HITS along with Mr. E. Venkatesan, Inspector of Police. The tournament was conducted among the villages adopted by HITS under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Scheme, which is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote rural development and community engagement. The event was a great opportunity for the youth of the adopted villages to come together, interact, and showcase their talent in sports.
Apart from promoting sports and physical activity, the Village Sports Meet was also an opportunity to create awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the benefits of engaging in sports and physical activity. The event was a great way to promote community engagement and foster a sense of unity and belonging among the rural communities.
