Dr. KCG Verghese Higher Education Leadership Management Center (HELM) in association with the Office of International Affairs organised a guest lecture on 6 February 2024. The resource person for the lecture was Dr. Rushikesh Khire, AP, International College, Sr. Manager, International Student Recruiting, Providence University, Taichung Taiwan.
Dr. Khire addressed a group of staff and selected students from the School of Management, M. Sc Chemistry and B. Sc Food Technology on the topic “Guest Lecture on Global Education Gateway: Opportunities for HITS Students at Providence University, Taiwan.” The lecture commenced with a brief outline of the history of Providence University which was established in the year 1949 and accredited by the Ministry of Education in 1956. Dr. Khire informed that there are about 12,000 students, 630 full time faculty members, and the growth in international students in recent year is 15% a year, and boasts of 400 partners worldwide.

Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Akkara Sherine, Professor and Head Rankings and Head - HELM Centre. She was also instrumental in connecting with Providence University for Women, Taiwan in the year 2019 and effectively initiated a memorandum of understanding with the Institution. Dr. Badri Narayananan, HOD, SOM proposed the vote of thanks.
