Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science welcomed its incoming batch from the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and the School of Planning, Architecture, Design and Environment (SPADE) with a Freshers' Induction Programme at the MGR Auditorium. The morning opened with a film tracing HITS' achievements and cultural milestones, setting an inspiring tone before the Student Chaplain led the opening prayer. The HITS Student Choir lent a soulful touch with the Thamizh Thai Vazhthu and the Hindustan Anthem, followed by a short film introducing the Hindustan Group of Institutions to the new students. The Vice Chancellor's welcome address brought a personal, encouraging note to the proceedings, welcoming freshers into the HITS community.
The event carried real weight in its lineup of speakers. Pro Chancellor Dr. Ashok George Verghese delivered the presidential address, followed by a special address from Executive Director Dr. Aby Sam. The highlight of the morning was the Chief Guest address by Padmashree awardee Ar. C.N. Raghavendran, whose presence lent the occasion a distinguished, inspiring edge, followed by the Guest of Honour address from Mr. Ravishankar Sethuraman, Senior Vice President at HCLTech, who offered valuable industry perspective to the freshers. The programme closed on a note of gratitude and unity, with the Dean of Academics delivering the vote of thanks and the Student Choir leading the National Anthem, bringing the induction to a fitting close and officially welcoming the new academic family into HITS.
