Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science welcomed its incoming batch from the School of Liberal & Creative Arts (SLiCA) and the School of Basic & Applied Sciences (SBAS) with a Freshers' Induction Programme at the Andromeda Hall, organized by the HITS Student Council under the guidance of Student Affairs. A prayer from Student Chaplain Rev. Sunu Baby Koshy followed, along with the Thamizh Thai Vazhthu and the Hindustan Anthem, rendered by the HITS Students Choir, before a video presentation introduced the freshers to the history, strengths, and vision of the Hindustan Group of Institutions.
Dr. S. Ganesan, Dean of SBAS, delivered the Welcome Address, extending a warm and inclusive reception to the freshers of both schools, followed by the Presidential Address from Vice Chancellor Dr. Vikas Mishra, who spoke on the responsibilities and aspirations that come with beginning a university education. Chief Guest Ms. Susan Mathew, IAS (Rtd.), introduced by Dean of Academics Dr. C. Kezi Selva Vijila, drew on her extensive career in public service to offer the students a perspective on discipline, resilience, and purpose-driven work. Dr. Marcelin Pushpa, Head of SLiCA and Dean of Student Affairs, delivered the Vote of Thanks, and the ceremony closed with the National Anthem performed by the HITS Students Choir, marking a fitting welcome for the newest members of the HITS family.
