The Cyber Security Week was celebrated on 28 November 2022 in view of the World Security Day on 30 November 2022 to create awareness among the students. The event was organized by the Department of Computer Science Engineering. The keynote speaker for the occasion was Mr. Vinod Senthil Director/CTO and Hacker, Infysec Solutions. He is also recognized by the CEOs of Microsoft and Google for his bug bounting in their respective applications. He holds 13 world records for conducting large information security gathering. Through his interactive session, Mr. Vinod explained the methods involved in hacking. He also demonstrated the data breaches and automobile hacking happening in real time by collecting the student email addresses. He briefed the preventive methods to be followed while accessing the cyber space. He introduced the usage of OpenAI to the students and demonstrated few activities using the OpenAI tool.
The event started with the welcome address by Dr. J. Thangakumar, Head-CSE, followed by specialaddress by Dr. Angelina Geetha (Dean-E&T) and the presidential address by Dr. S N Sridhara, Vice Chancellor HITS. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. S. Revathy, AP(SG), CSE.
The event aimed tocreate thecyber security awareness among the individuals andto make individual awareof the different threats that they face in real time with preventive measures. Around 540 students were participated in this event.
