Conferment of ‘Women Icon of India’ Award to Dr. Elizabeth Verghese, Chairperson, Hindustan Group of Institutions
ICT Academy BRIDGE 2020, an event that connected government policy-makers, industry experts and academic leaders, focused on the theme “Augmenting Skills, Accelerating Growth.”The conference,held at IITM Research Park, Chennai on 26 Feb. 2020, was an apt platform where visionaries laid out their blueprint for the right skills mixthat would make existing and upcoming workforce to augment ratherthan compete with technology.
Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Verghese, Chairperson, Hindustan Group of Institutions, was honoured by the ICT Academy at BRIDGE 2020 with the highly acclaimed “Women Icon of India” Award in recognition of her achievements in the field of Higher Education. In her acceptance speech,Dr. Elizabeth Verghese owed her gratitude to the teaching fraternity, students, and all the staff of Hindustan Group of Institutionsand commended the team work that has immenselycontributed to the growth of the institution. “I feel proud as Chairperson of Hindustan Group of Institutions that we have created a platform for thestudents and also earmarked a road map to enrich their employability skills and provide a curriculumbased on industry & technology 4.0 with a view to bridge the gap between industry and academiarequirements,” quoted Dr. Elizabeth in her Panel Discussion on “Augmenting Skills, Accelerating Growth.” Other luminaries who were honoured with awards include, Dr. V. Shantha, Chairman, Adayar Cancer Institute; Dr. Akhila Srinivasan, MD, Sriram Life Insurance Co. Ltd.; Dr. SudhaSeshayyan, Vice Chancellor, Dr. MGR Medical University.
