Athena Literary Club - Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony of Athena – The Literary Club was held on 14 August 2023. The Student Council members of the year 2023-2024 took the oath and were presented with badges. The ceremony was presided over by Dr Alexander Jesudasan. Pro-Vice Chancellor;Dr K.S Shaji, Dean of Student Affairs;Ms Beena James,Head of Student Affairs, – Dr Marcelin Pushpa, Head of SLAAS and Rev. Justin Jose, Student Chaplin.

In his Presidential Address Dr Alexander Jesudasan, pointed out how leaders are not made by chance but by choice and through anecdotes and speech motivated the young minds to be aware of the important role they have and how it will help in their future endeavors.The welcome address was delivered by Dr Marcelin Pushpa who stated how one should make the best use of the student life, how the responsibilities of a leader bring out the best in students.

The Ceremony commenced with the invocation song by Mr. Joel Ruben of II-year, B.Tech.Computer Science Engineering followed by the opening prayer offered by Rev Justin Jose Student Chaplain. The former Ogma Note Advisor – Ms. Arshiya Fathima introduced the previous council and shared her experience and achievements with the help of a PowerPoint presentation. She also shared a word of advice and encouragement to the new council members which was really appreciated. This was followed by Dr Sonu Joseph navigating the gathering through what Athena Club is and how the club has been playing a major role in bringing out the talent and creativity skills of the members of the club with the help of a PowerPoint presentation. She introduced the new Student Council Members to the audience.

As the ceremony proceeded, the council members were honored with their badges by Dr K.S Shaji and Mrs Beena James, the Dean and HOD of Student Affairs respectively. The oath was administered by Dr K.S Shaji. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Sonu Joseph, who expressed her gratitude towards successfully conducting the event and praised the previous council members. The ceremony concluded with a musical performance rendered by Mr. Joel Ruben and clicking of pictures of both the present and former council members.The proceedings were hosted by Ms. Fahima Bano -III Year Aerospace andMr. Mukhtar Ahmed -II Year Mechatronics.
