Anti Drug Awareness Programme

The event was held on 13 August 2025 at the Bay Range Campus and aimed to promote and educate the students on the menace of drug abuse. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. P. Aravindhan IPS, Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau and PWAF Ym. Sundeep Ravindran District Governor, Madras district was the Special Guest. The other invited guest was Mr. Hafiz Khan, Social Impact Leader. The programme was also graced by the University Officials, Deans, Heads of the Departments, faculty and students.

The Chief and the Special Guests advised and pointed out to the hazards caused using drugs. They urged the students to be aware of the usage of drugs by their peers. They advised the students to bring to the notice of the staff if they find any of their fellow students are under the influence of drug. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. S. Ganesan, Vice Chancellor (Interim). The pledge against drug usage was administered by Mr. Hafiz Khan, Social Impact Leader. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. K. S. Shaji, Dean – Office of the Student Affairs. Later the staff and students participated in the Anti-Drug Awareness Rally which was jointly flagged off by the guests and Vice Chancellor. The students shouted out slogans and held placards to create awareness on drug abuse.
