The 72nd Republic Day of India was celebrated with much valor in the University Campus on 26 Jan. 2021. Despite the pandemic condition, large number of students and staff turned up at the campus for the celebration; and others joined live through MS Teams.
Group Captain V. Ganesh Narayanan, Commanding Offr, 1 TN Air Sqn NCC and an excellent SSB GTO, who took charge of the office in Dec 2020presided as the Chief Guest.He implored everyone to have complete discipline in their lives, which would help them through in any tough situations. He also said that he was much impressed by the HITS management in giving fullest support for the NCC—thelargest Youth Organization in India.The programme was filled with excitement and patriotism as the senior cadets performed a complete drill sequence, with a butterfly salute given to our Chief Guest and reported to the Chief Guest and the Vice Chancellor as the National Flag was ready to be unfurled. Respect was paid to the country by unfurling our National Flag with the Rastriya Salute.
Faculty Awards were given for achievements such as receiving Patent Rights Obtained/Applications Registered , Ph.D.Completionsetc. Cultural programmecentering on the theme of frontline workers during the COVID times in Indiawas performed by the first year NCC cadets.Most respected academicians, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. S. N. Sridhara;the Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. R. W. Alexander Jesudasan;the Registrar, Dr. Pon Ramalingam; and the Chief Admin Officer Wg. Cmr. K. R. Srikanth; Deans&HoDs, and Faculty of various departments were seen at the function.
