Background of the Program

The BA Triple Major with Law, Economics and Political Science is an innovative program stemming from the recent multidisciplinary approach to education. It diverges from the conventional ideas of learning a single major to embracing a broad spectrum of topics covering the major areas of Law, Economics and Political Science. It offers a much larger and updated range of subjects in order to foster well-rounded individuals motivated for lifelong learning and capable of contributing to a wider society. The aim of the program is to ensure delivery of the right knowledge, skills and abilities combined with an in-depth field experience in the respective areas to accomplish a fruitful experience for the learner The program is firmly grounded in theory, principles and nuances of Economics and the power play of Political Science along with the momentousness of Law.

About the Program

The curriculum is designed in such a way to ignite young minds with innovating ideas and concepts. It focuses on global issues related to economics and business. The curriculum covers topics ranging from expanding markets to the impact of the global financial crisis. The program will develop students’ analytical and problem solving skills along with their writing, reading, speaking and presentation skills. Building upon the foundation laid in the first two years in Economics and quantitative courses, students can choose from a wide variety of Elective courses and specializations in the third year.

The Triple Major BA program is exclusively designed for learners who aim to enrich themselves with the knowledge wealth of multi-specializations rather than uni-specialization. The flexibility of the BA Triple Major provides students with a background in both Social Sciences and Law, and gives students resourceful skills that increase their value in the eyes of potential employers in job markets. With a BA Triple Major degree, students can engage in all the three majors without restricting to just one specialized area of study and the degree will be a roadmap for preparation of life beyond the classroom.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Political Science & Economics

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE (PEO):


PEO 1: Graduates will impart knowledge of basic concepts and methods, and developing ability to appreciate the challenges in field settings.
PEO 2: Graduates will acquire basic skills in major areas of application (e.g., psychological testing, experimentation, counselling, interviewing, data analysis, report writing).  Graduates will develop a strong sense of ethical and moral aptness in general and in the context of learning and its assessment in particular.
PEO 3: Graduates will promote self-understanding, reflexivity, and personal growth and understand the complexities of self and human relationships and how the two make each other up. Graduates will master the basic reflective, analytical, scientific writing, computational, and communicative competencies and develop respect for social diversity and increasing the social and cultural relevance of learning.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO’S): 


PO 1: Disciplinary Knowledge: Ability to understand core psychological concepts, models, classical theories, varied perspectives, the evolution of the field, new research being carried out, as well as knowledge of the subfields. 
PO 2: Self-Directed Learning: Enable students to reflect on their interest and aptitudes to become Psychologist, Political scientise and Economist, etc.
PO 3: Usage of Tools: Develop competency in assessment and psychological tools in normal and clinical populations. 
PO 4: Reflective Thinking: Encouraging self-understanding, reflection and personal growth
PO 5: Analytical Reasoning: Develop inquisitive abilities to know the reasons behind the behavioral phenomenon.
PO 6: Societal Responsibilities: Make aware of responsibilities to society and the specific communities in which they live
PO 7: Scientific Interpretation: Analyze the worldly phenomenon from their perspectives and to use scientific reasoning to interpret the human behavior
PO 8: Group/Team Work: Ability to work both independently and in groups, dealing effectively with clients and stakeholders, and learning the art of negotiation.
PSO 9: Moral and Ethical Awareness: Moral and ethical awareness and reasoning involving an objective and unbiased work attitude, avoiding unethical behaviors such as data fabrication and plagiarism, observing a code of conduct, respecting intellectual property rights, and being aware of the implications and ethical concerns of research studies.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOME (PSOs): 


PSO 1: Apply fundamental, basic, and theoretical courses to develop core competencies in different fields.
PSO 2: Apply knowledge and concepts for self-reflection, awareness, and societal responsibilities.  
PSO 3: Work individually and in groups in various settings to pursue higher studies in psychology and interdisciplinary programs by applying the principles of ethics, research, and environmental and social issues. 
PSO 4: Apply assessment skills and principles in various field settings, contributing to the overall personality and career development.
