Visiting International Students Programme offered by University of Wisconsin - Madison
Visiting International Student Program University of Wisconsin -Madison
Dear Colleagues and Partners,M
We hope you are doing well. Here at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, our fall semester is coming to a close. Thanks to a campus vaccination rate of approximately 95%, free & readily available vaccinations and tests, and an indoor mask mandate, we’ve been able to maintain our mostly in-person instruction that’s resulted in the most normal campus feel we’ve had since the pandemic began. Our staff loved welcoming our Visiting International Student Program (VISP) credit participants back to campus.
Applications are now open for Summer & Fall 2022
Our applications for summer and fall 2022 credit programs are now open. We would be delighted to welcome your students to our campus either in-person or online. While our online-only course options are minimal, we will continue to welcome in VISP students who wish to enroll in online coursework from home.
- Traditional VISP Program Track welcomes students from all academic areas provided that they are somewhat flexible in their course enrollment. These students wait until course enrollment (April for summer and fall semester, November for spring) to see what courses they are able to take at UW-Madison.
- Thematic VISP Program Tracks welcome students interested in focusing on one academic area of interest. Students in these tracks are guaranteed the majority of their credits within one department even before the students start enrolling, and receive personalized advising from faculty as well as from our staff./li>
As a reminder, you can find more updated information about our credit program on our website including program eligibility, estimated cost information, and our application process. Please feel free to refer any student questions to VISP@dcs.wisc.edu.
Upcoming Credit Terms & Application Timelines
We encourage application submission by the priority deadline for maximum flexibility regarding course enrollment, housing, and processing time for visa acquisition. However, we are able to take applications after this time as well.
*Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after this point. Applying by the recommended timeline allows time for program admission before course enrollment begins, which will increase course enrollment and housing options for students.

INTERNATIONAL GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT PLATFORM (iGEP)
In this fast paced technology driven world where changes are happening, Higher Education Institutions are no exception. The task of engaging Post Millennial University students (Generation Z) in the learning process is proving to be a challenge and has evolved as an Art. Generation Z students are vibrant and prefer to explore new avenues and do not prefer to be within the four walls and also be exposed to traditional teaching. They disengage fairly quickly, if not actively engaged in the education process. Though many complain Gen Z as lethargic, not attentive, least bothered, but in reality they are active, attentive and responsible generation. They are motivated to indulge in experiential learning and engage in avenues of specific interest. Post Millennials appreciate and indulge in activities which add value and ignore things that don‘t add value.
GLOBAL WALKERS of HITS are the pride and the brand ambassadors of the institution who traverse various parts of the world etching an indelible mark in the various avenues they are engaged. It includes collaborative research, twinning programmes, student and staff exchange programmes semester abroad programmes, international summer internship programmes, cultural immersion, chancellor fellowship programmes, tech events and Management alliance events.
