The Office of International Affairs (OIA) has been established with a goal of enhancing the quality of education and research and their service to societyby creating an ecosystem for learning and world class research. It helps in developing national and international collaboration and strategic partnership.The office of International Affairs is headed by Director (International Affairs) and coordinates the university's wide-ranging international activities such as
- Recruitment of international students and faculty
- Encouraging study abroad
- Fostering international exchange and collaboration.
OIAstrives to enable our students to gain international exposure through semester exchange, study abroad, summer program etc., help the international students to have successful academic, cultural and personal experiences while studying at the university and facilitate joint research.
Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Tokyo, Japan - Semester Exchange
Undergraduate students of Engineering & Technology Courses can study for one or two Semesters in SIT
No Tuition Fee.
Only Placement fee: JPY 20,000
Opportunity of Scholarship: JPY 40,000 per month
Minimum Expenditure for Stay & Boarding: JPY 80,000 per month
Permission to do part time work for up to 28 Hrs per week

Application Guidelines for Graduate Degrees
- Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea for graduate-level degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.
- As Korean Government Scholarship Programs have been integrated and branded as Global Korea Scholarship in 2010, the name is changed to GKS (Global Korea Scholarship).
Total Number Of Expected Grantees : 1276 Candidates
- Graduate Degrees (Master’s and Doctoral program): 1266 Candidates
- GKS Quota reserved for the Embassy Track: 650 Candidates (606 General + 20 Overseas Koreans + 30 Korean Language Teaching Professionals)
– Embassy Track Quota for General Applicants: 606 Candidates from 145 Countries

Office of International Affairscoordinates all activities related to international cooperation and provides the following services:
- Managing existing collaboration and seeking new partnerships
- Draft and negotiate international cooperation agreements
- Participate in international educational meetings and forums
- Provide assistance to foreign students admitted to HITS
- Disseminate Information about the different international programs such as semester exchange, cultural exchange, summer program, internship, research work ,higher studies abroad, twinning programmes, scholorships, etc.
- Promote and handle student and teacher mobility to and from foreign institutions

Student Exchange Program
The Student Exchange Program (SEP) of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science) reveals commitment to global education, allowing our undergraduates and postgraduates to spend a semester or two at an overseas partner university, earning credits towards their Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science degree. The overseas partners include over 90 leading universities from around the world. SEP is a chance for our students to experience student life in a foreign country and learn to be a global citizen. It is a good opportunity for students to pick up a new language, improve their language skills, absorb new cultures, broaden their social horizon, make new friends and enhance their knowledge and career options.
NOTE: SEP students DO NOT have to pay Tuition Fee to Partner University.
Student will bear all other expenses excluding Tuition Fee to Partner University.
StudentExchange Program - Outbound
Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science sends students to overseas partner universities to undergo short term study for one or two semesters. Students who want to study in partner universities of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science under the Semester Exchange / Study abroad Program should meet the eligibility criteria for Partner University. Entry to individual subjects may be dependent on prerequisites and class limitations. English knowledge requirements specified by Partner University must be met. The students can enroll in courses for a maximum of 25 credits per semester.
The Students will be assessed as any full time student is assessed by Partner University and an official transcript will be issued indicating the credits earned and grade awarded.
Eligibility and Procedure
A student can pursue courses under Semester Exchange Program only inpartner universities with whom HITS has an exchange agreement.
HITS nominates students with minimum CGPA of 8and no arrears. One arrear in the last semester will be handled on a case by case basis.
Students can apply by submitting the following completed forms
- Preliminary application
- Student undertaking
- Parent consent form to Office of International Affairs after due permission from HOD.
Fix an appointment with Student Affairs officer at Office of International Affairs,4th Floor, Foundersblock for counselling session.
Partner University Application along with all required documents will be submitted by Office of International Affairs to Partner University for approval.
Upon receiving confirmation from Partner University, Selected students will be intimated to plan travel.
Student Exchange Program - Inbound
Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science accepts students from overseas partner universities to undergo short term study for one or two semesters, either during odd semester ( July to December) or even semester( January to May) under the Semester Exchange Program
Students who want to study in Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science under the Semester Exchange / Study abroad Program requires minimum CGPA of 7for entry. Entry to individual subjects may be dependent on prerequisites and class limitations.
English knowledge equivalent of IELTS 6/Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF or CEFR) B1 is required. The students can enroll in courses for a maximum of 25 credits per semester.
The Students will be assessed as any full time student is assessed. There will be an end semester examination after which an official transcript will be issued indicating the credits earned and grade awarded.
Who can apply:
A student can pursue courses under Semester Exchange Program only if his/her home university has an exchange agreement with HITS.

Student Abroad Program (SAP)
Study Abroad Program - Outbound
Students of HITS can pursue a semester of studies in any of the international partner universities upon candidate approval by Partner University.
As there are no students exchanged as per MoU,student will be required to bear all expenses including tuition fee for the semester to Partner University
Study Abroad Program - Inbound
A student can pursue courses in HITS even if his / her home university does not have an agreement with HITS by additionally paying tuition fee to HITS in addition to living expenses

International Exchange Program
International Summer Internship Program (ISIP) provides an exceptional opportunity for our students to combine high-quality learning with an unforgettable summer experience at an overseas partner institution.Usually ranges between 2 and 6 weeks.
While attending, students learn and live alongside other academic achievers from a range of cultures. They immerse themselves in a multicultural environment and gain insights into international cultures, experience a unique learning environment and enjoy the many pleasures of summer from around the world.
Students also get opportunity to work with an array of global partner organizations to gain valuable international work skills that meet their specified goals and career interests.
Cultural Immersion Program
Students travel abroad to participate in 2 weeks to one month cultural immersion programs. These are announced by partner universities/consultants every now and then.
This provides a wonderful opportunity for HITS students to interact with students from various countries, regions, backgrounds and cultures. They learn new languages, taste different cuisine and participate in workshops, group projects, sight-seeing and more.
These programs builds cultural awareness, independence, self-confidence and other life enriching skills that help participants to make smart choices.
Hindustan University organizes study tours to countries around the globe. The study tour provides a uniquely immersive international experience through visits to wide variety of industries and participation in workshops, sightseeing, country study, team-building exercise and cultural activities all in one!
The study tour usually lasts between 3days to one week but not limited.
Aeronautical and Aerospace students also participate in space camp tour and international aerospace events and competitions
