Each School of the University conducts National and International Level Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Symposiums and other important academic events every year. It gives an opportunity for our students to interact with other University students and share their views and technical knowledge.

IBM T3 TRAINING PROGRAM ON VIRTUALIZATION & VIRTUALIZATION LAB
The IBM T3 Training Program on Virtualization and Virtualization Labconducted by IBM and IBM partner was attended by faculty members of School of Computing Sciences for 3 days from Jan 27th 2016 to Jan 29th 2016.

Mr. Viqaruddin Surki, Team Lead Media Development, IBM India, introduced the trainer Mr. Suresh to the faculty. The Dean, School of Computing Sciences- Dr.D Venkata Subramaniangave a brief overview on Virtualization and Cloud.
On Day 1,deliberations on the fundamentals of the virtualization, difference between emulation and virtualization, types of virtualization and their advantages and disadvantages were discussed followed by Lab session for installing VMware Workstation.
On Day 2, server and storage, network and application virtualization topics were covered with simultaneous demonstration of Virtualization and hands-on practical sessionusing Oracle Virtual Box, VMware Workstation, and VMware ESX.The attendees successfully implemented virtualization on windows, fedora operating system in the terminals provide to us.
On Day 3,the roles played by qmeu, v-host and kvm in virtualization were explained.Cloud Computing introduction and Implementation, delivery and deployment models were discussed followed by assessment at the end of the session.
Mr. SurkiandMr.Suresh concluded the three day training program that was very interactive. The expected training outcome was to provide impetus to the faculty to further equip the students of Hindustan University with current trends/requirements of the IT Industry.
School of Building Sciences
The National Conference on 'Advances In Construction Techniques And Innovative Sustainable Materials'was held on 5th February, 2016. Dr.Ravi Kumar Bhargava, Dean, Building Sciences welcomed the gathering. Dr.Vasudevan, Dean Academics addressed the gathering. Dr.JessyRooby, HOD, Civil Engineering Department introduced the Chief Guest. Dr.Kingsley.J.D.Thomas, General Manager, L&T Heavy Civil Infra projects delivered the key note address elucidating the advances made in the field of Civil Engineering. Mr. Christopher Danielraj, Joint Secretary of the Conference introduced the guest of honour Ar.Manjula Inian, Architect, CPWD. Ar. Manjula Inian delivered a lecture on the latest advancement made in the field of Architecture.The Chief GuestEr. Kingley.J.D. Thomas, released the Conference proceedings. Er. Kingley.J.D. Thomas, brought out the importance of maintaining quality in RCC. With practical examples he explained about the various problems faced in the construction field and also gave solutions for the same
The Guest of HonourAr.ManjulaInian shared her practical experiencebased on her work as an Architect from the Central Public Works Department. She explained in depth about the various innovative technique and green building concept adopted in the construction of her residence.
The technical session was chaired by Dr. Helen Shanthi, Professor, VIT, Chennai. Altogether 30 papers were received for the conference. Papers were presented by authors from VIT, SRM, AVIT, SEACO, BIEMS, Calcutta. The Conference ended with the valedictory function, in which the certificate to the participants were distributed. National Conference on Recent Advances in Smart Materials (NCRASM2016)
Department of Chemistry and CENCON, HITS jointly organized a two day National Conference during 07-08 January 2016 in association with Indian Institute of Metals and Materials Research Society of India at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Padur.
The Chief Guest Dr.S.R.Vadera, Scientist-H & Director, DRDO, Jodhpur, chaired the National Conference. Dr.S.Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor, HITS, Dr.G.Ilavazhagan, Dr.N.Vasuvedan, Dean (Academics), Director (Research), Dr.Praveen Prakash, Dean (S&H) were also present.
Dr. S. Induja, Head, Department of Chemistry, welcomed the gathering. Dr. S. Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, Hindustan University, stressed the importance and Role of Smart Materials in Science and Technology. Dr.N.Vasudevan, Dean (Academics) introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. The Chief Guest Dr. S.R. Vadera explained in detail the contribution of DRDO in the area of Smart Materials.
50th Annual Golden Jubilee Conference of Association of Mathematics Teachers of India AMTI
50th Annual Golden Jubilee Conference of Association of Mathematics Teachers of India (AMTI) was hosted by Department of Mathematics, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science from 27th to 30th December 2015. Around two hundred delegates from Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, West Bengal and other various parts of India and abroad attended the Conference.
Day1 - 27/12/2015:
The first day of the conference began with the prayer song followed by the Welcome Address by Prof. M.Mahadevan, General Secretary of AMTI. Special Address was delivered by Dr. A.Praveen Prakash, Dean S&H, HoD of Mathematics Department, Hindustan Universit y and Inaugural Address by Prof. M.S.Ragunathan, Head of the National Centre for Mathematics, IIT Mumbai. Dr. J.Pandurangan, Retd. Prof. Anna University, Executive Chairman of AMTI gave the Presidential Address.
PROF.A.NARASINGA RAO MEMORIAL LECTURE
Prof. Toshiakira Fujii, Tokya Gakugei University, Japan, delivered the memorial lecture on the topic "Japanese approach to reaching every learner, lesson study and problem solving lesson". Delegates presented their work in Andromeda Lecture Theatre and in adjacent classrooms in parallel sessions. The exhibition gallery was set up and different Mathematical models and posters were displayed .The first day of the conference ended with the video show of Hindustan Group of Institutions followed by the cultural program by Hindustan cultural team.
Day2 – 28/12/2015:
The second day of the conference started with the written quiz for all the delegates.Theme talk given by Prof .S.R. Santhanam, Secretary, Talent Competition, AMTI. Prof. P.L. Bhatnagar Memorial Lecture was delivered by Prof .Miriam Amit, on the topic "Cultivating mathematical giftedness and creativity in multicultural society –The Kidumatica experience" which motivated the delegates to bring their potential in learning / teaching mathematics in creative ways. Prof.Venu Gopal. D. Heroor addressed the Prof. R.C Gupta endowment lecture on "Rigorous analysis of Brahmagupta's geomentry in Bhaskaracharya's Lilavati". The Panel discussion were conducted and the panelists were Prof Dr. S. E Agarkar, Prof .Miriam Amit , Ben.Gurian University, Israel, Prof. Toshiakira Fujii and Dr.Jalaja.
The second day concluded with the General body meeting of AMTI that was chaired by Dr.J.Pandurangan. General Secretary of AMTI Mr .M.Mahadevan presented the account for the year2014-2015 and got it approved by the General body. The new executive members for AMTI were elected.
Dr.D.Piriadarshani, Prof. Dept of Mathematics, Hindustan University was elected as an executive member of AMTI, to represent Tamil Nadu state.
Day3 - 29/12/2015:
The third day of the conference began with the paper presentation, followed by the final quiz conducted by Prof.R.Athmaraman, Editor, Junior Mathematician, AMTI and Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan. The four teams, each consisting of four members were shortlisted based on the written quiz conducted on day two. The quiz program was very interesting and innovative as the entire proceedings were monitored by the special software specifically devised for efficient conduct of the quiz program. The delegates were split into different groups based on their choice and were taken to Mahabalipuram and Ramanujam Museum in Royapuram as field trips.
Day4 - 30/12/2015:
Delegates were taken to the newly erected building of AMTI at Perungalathur. This building has all the facilities for the research and teaching with well equipped library, seminar halls, classrooms and guest rooms.
It was held at Sundaravalli Memorial auditorium all the eminent and distinguished Mathematicians who laid the foundation and nurtured the AMTI from 1965 were honored. There was an open session and delegates expressed their observations and gratitude towards AMTI and Hindustan University. Dr.M.Balasubramanium, Chief Guest of the valedictory function insisted that teachers of Mathematics should conglomerate and share their knowledge and experience to make the learning/ teaching/ research interesting and innovative.
Dr A.Praveen Prakash, Dean S&H, HoD Maths Department, Hindustan University expressed his gratitude to AMTI for giving the opportunity to host the 50th Annual Golden Jubilee Conference. Dr. D. Piriadarshani, Prof. Dept. of Mathematics, Hindustan University was the coordinator.
Mr. M. Mahadevan General Secretary of AMTI thanked the Management of Hindustan University for hosting their 50th Annual Golden Jubilee Conference in a well organized manner.
