Staff Development Program

The University is known for its highly qualified and experienced faculty. The appointment of each faculty is made by the appointing authority on the basis of selection made by the selection committee. The Female-Male ratio of teaching faculty ranges from 46% to 54% respectively. 70% of staff members are from TamilNadu and 30% are from other states. The University is also proud to have faculty members from abroad.

Induction Programmes and Orientation Programmes are conducted for the newly recruited staff members. The programme is designed to inform the staff regarding the vision and mission of the institution, quality policy, OBE practices, service rules, services available in the institution, career opportunities, recognition of service, ISO / 5S procedures and requirements, departmental procedures and also imparting pedagogical knowledge and also briefing the staff regarding the students' psychology. During these programmes the staff are also made aware of the job responsibilities of faculty as per UGC/AICTE norms, the job responsibilities of faculty are broadly divided into the following four areas: (a) academic (b) Research and Consultancy (c) Administration (d) Extension of Services.

The University conducts several staff development and training programmes both internal and external. Staff development programme that were conducted over the years are: Quality teaching through effective presentation skills. Confidence building, Soft skills and classroom dynamics. Hindustan Toastmasters Club(HTMC) unit of Toastmasters International Inspiring.Teaching Pedagogy from NITTTR, Chennai.

In order to retain and nurture talent Incentives are offered to encourage individual staff in their career progression. The Incentives offered are Publications in Scopus Indexed Journals, for obtaining external funded research projects, consultancy programmes.

The Institution ensures transparency in all its process and has a well-developed feedback mechanism for auditing the performance of the staff.

The Institution encourages staff to pursue their higher studies such as Ph.D. / PDF / Certification courses and provides financial support.
