About the Program

MASTER OF ARTS


The Master of Arts (MA) in Public Administration is a two-year program that aims to impart a bett­er understanding of policies and issues in the fields of public policy-making, governance, and administration in India. It is an ideal program that can open up new avenues into leadership roles in policy-making and public administration.

Our well-structured MA Public Administration syllabus at the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) will impart the much-needed skills to learn, investigate, research, and develop a framework for public governance processes within the Indian democracy.

Eligibility

MASTER OF ARTS

50% in an Undergraduate (Bachelor) Program of a minimum duration of Three (3) years in any stream from a UGC recognized University. Candidates who are in the final semester of the Bachelor Program are also eligible to apply.

After completing the MA in Public Administration degree, those interested in higher education have access to a variety of options. Traditionally, if a student completes the master’s degree in Public Administration, he/she can pursue a PhD course as part of higher education.

The study of administration as a whole has close proximity to the study of management, hence, the students can also take up higher education in the field of management after completing the postgraduate degree.

The candidates can further apply for the state public services or UPSC. One of the most sought-after job profiles in India, civil services is called the steel frame of India. The work of a civil servant is most suitable for a public administration graduate as they are trained in the work of administration.
