Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science hosted its grand annual inter-collegiate cultural festival YOLO ’26 (You Only Live Once) on 13th March 2026, bringing together students from various institutions across Tamil Nadu and beyond. The event was conducted across multiple venues on campus, culminating in a spectacular Grand Cultural Night at the Bay Range Campus.
The festival aimed to promote creativity, cultural expression, and competitive spirit among students. Organized by the management under the guidance of the Student Affairs department, with active coordination by the HITS Student Council and support from external event partners, YOLO ’26 stood as one of the most vibrant and large-scale cultural events of the institution.
The event commenced in the morning with a formal inauguration ceremony, including the traditional lighting of the lamp and welcome address, marking the beginning of four days of dynamic competitions and performances. Participants engaged in a wide array of events spanning disciplines such as Fine Arts, Theatre, Media, Fashion, Literary Arts, Gaming, Music, and Dance, showcasing talent, innovation, and teamwork across categories.
The campus witnessed high energy and enthusiasm as preliminary rounds and finals were conducted across various venues, with students displaying exceptional skills in creative arts, performance, and competitive events. The competitions encouraged originality, confidence, and collaboration, making the festival a platform for holistic student engagement.
The highlight of YOLO ’26 was the Grand Cultural Night, which began with the valedictory ceremony and prize distribution recognizing winners across all events. The Overall Championship was awarded to SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, for their outstanding performance throughout the festival.
The evening continued with electrifying entertainment, including a high-energy set by DJ Nithin, followed by a captivating live performance by singer and actress Madonna Sebastian, who engaged the audience with a vibrant musical concert. The celebration further featured a graceful classical dance performance by the HITS Dance Team and an interactive celebrity session with actress Malavika Mohanan, who connected with students through an inspiring talk.
The event concluded with an international DJ performance by Holy C DJ, accompanied by a synchronized fireworks display, creating a memorable and exhilarating finale to the festival.
YOLO ’26 was a grand success, reflecting the spirit of youth, creativity, and cultural unity. The festival provided a dynamic platform for inter-collegiate interaction, artistic expression, and unforgettable experiences, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering vibrant campus life.
