Over 50 participants from various industries such as Ramco Cements Ltd., Vibcon Services, and students and staff from educational institutions attended a two-day Workshop on “Recent Trends in Energy Audit and Conservation for Industries and Buildings” organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on 26 and 27 June 2019. Keynote Speaker Dr. P. Dharmalingam, Director, National Productivity Council, Chennai, addressed on “Energy Efficiency of Electrical Utilities and Mechanical Utilities” with case studies and examples. Dr. T. S. Ravikumar, Professor, HITS, spoke on Energy Performance of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Systems; and also dealt on Energy Efficiency in Buildings with case studies and examples. Similarly, Dr. M. Kannan, Professor, HITS, gave a presentation on Energy Performance of DG sets with real time case studies at work places.
