PALS is an educational initiative by volunteers from Alumni Fraternity of various IIT’s for the benefit of students of engineering colleges. PALS innoWAH! is the Flagship Innovation competition event conducted by PALS with a theme relevant to the current times. This experience gives the students an understanding of engineering industry practices, including rigors of documentation and compliance; and also, it develops student's teamwork, communication skills, and leadership capabilities. The competition recognizes promising young innovators and their institutions. In the 2021-22 PALS innoWAH! a total of 17 teams from HITS represented at the preliminary selection and 5 teams were qualified for Concept and Design document submission. 3 teams got shortlisted for finals and presented their product Demo and Business Model on 19 March 2022. Team AGROBOT-Semi Automatic Weeding Robot from the Department of Mechatronics guided by Dr. Kuppan Chetty and Ms. Manju Mohan won second prize (Rs. 5000) and Team AGRIBOT- Seed Sowing Robot from the department of ECE guided by Dr. AL. Vallikannu won the Incubation Worthy Award under education and others stream category.
