Two-Day Workshop On Application Of Computational Fluid Dynamics For Underwater Vehicles

A two-day Workshop on “Application of Computational Fluid Dynamics for Underwater vehicles” organized by department of Automobile Engineering was held on 18 and 19 July 2019 gathering 70 active participants from Automobile Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering. Invited speakers from industry, academic and research institutions shared their expertise in the field of computational fluid dynamics. Specifically, Mr. Muthuvel A., Hexiqon Technology, Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore, on “Introduction To Underwater Vehicles;” Dr. Dhiman Chatterjee, Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras, on “Cavitation Flow Of Underwater Vehicles;” Dr. Deepak Kumar, Associate Professor, IITDM, Kanchipuram, on “CFD Approaches In Flow Over Structure” and Mr. Anand Kishor, Scientist ‘C’, NIOT, Chennai on “Drag Optimization Of Robotic Fish And Glider.” Participants expressed interest to have hands on session for a couple of days on the theme which would likely be arranged in future.
