Swachhta Pakhwada'21, a fortnight cleanliness campaign in and around HITS was organised by the Office of Student Affairs with involvement of NSS volunteers, NCC cadets & Rotaract Club members on 17 September 2021.More than 120 student volunteers participated in this programme under the able guidance of Mr.K.Gnanasekaran, NSS Programme Officer and Fl.Lt. Giri Rangarajan, NCC Officer.Dr.A.Prabaharan, Head - Student Affairs, and Mr. Adarsh Vijayan Pillai, Asst. Professor, EEE and Officer, Student Affairs coordinated for the programme.
The Vice Chancellor Dr.S.N.Sridhara in his inaugural address said, “Cleanliness is next to godliness. It is part of our culture. Everyone should strive to keep their surroundings neat and clean. Our villages, towns and cities can look clean only if we keep our surroundings tidy. With the involvement of youth, India can be the cleanest country in the world”. Ft/Cdt. Naveen Kumar, Final Year, B.Tech., Aerospace Engineering read the Swachhata Pakhwada pledge, and all the students and faculty took the pledge.The Pro Vice Chancellor Dr.R.W.Alexander Jesudasan, and the Registrar Dr.Pon.Ramalingam felicitated.
