A-2 day summer workshop on Open Source Software for Engineers conducted by the Dept. of Chemical Engineering on 10th and 11th July 2018 included invited talks and hands-on session by distinguished speakers from academia and industry on open source software OpenFOAM, Octave and DWSIM.
Mr. Sarangarajan, Co-Founder, Skill-lync, addressed on OpenFOAM, Octave, and CFD and its application in engineering. Ms. Durga Raja gave a hands-on session on Octave, and tutorials to solve basic arithmetical operations, decision making problems, and iterative problems in Octave. Mr. Jayaram Ganesan, Process Engineer, Dow Chemicals, explained the chemical process in equipment design, optimization and sensitivity analysis in DWSIM. Around 45 participants were benefited from the workshop.
