The Office of Students Affairs organised a Signature Campaign & Selfie with Olympic participants to cheer up the Indian Team to Tokyo Olympics. This was a week-long event starting from 19 July 2021. Chancellor Dr. (Mrs).Elizabeth Verghese, Pro Chancellor Dr.Anand Jacob Verghese, Vice Chancellor Dr.S.N.Sridhara, Directors Dr.Aby Sam, Dr. Ashok G. Verghese, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr.R.W.Alexander Jesudasan and Registrar Dr.Pon.Ramalingam conveyed their greetings.Dr.B.Selvamuthukrishnan, Sports Officer, HITS coordinated the event.
Ms.Jessica Shanai, a final year student of B.Tech., Aeronautical Engineering who organised the "Selfie with Indian Stars" said, "I am happy that my institute is taking several encouraging steps to boost up the Olympic participants. Surely this will go a long way in the sports development of India".Dr.A.Prabaharan, Head - Student Affairs appreciated the enthusiasm of students to encourage the participants of Indian Olympic Team going to Tokyo, and asserted that the them would come back with a big medals haul.
