On account of National Diabetes month (November), School of Allied Health Science in collaboration with the Smart Vision Eye & Diabetes clinic, Adyar, organized a half-day seminar/ workshop on "ACCESS TO DIABETES EDUCATION” on 30th November 2022. The main objective of the seminar was to educate the participants and impart awareness on magnitude & causes of the Diabetes Mellitus all over the world along with its management.
Students of BPT and B Optom participated for this event ,they also came up with great team work and has put together posters and banners related to Diabetes theme of the year 2022. The seminar commenced with the inaugural session, Ms. Sonali B.Optom student welcomed the speakers and the attendees with a delightful speech.
All the sessions were enlightening and interactive. The guest speaker Dr. Venkatesh,Diabetologist kick-started with a clear and brief introduction to“Diabetes – The Pandemic”. Following that Dr. Susan Marthandam, Director HCAS & Medical Director Smart Vision Eye & Diabetes clinic took over the session and boosted all the attendees with her immersive presentation on “Diabetic Retinopathy and Diabetic Neuropathy” along with the case discussion.
The program ended with a query session. Ms. Sivaranjani, B.Optom student, delivered the vote of thanks.2 faculties from SAHS ,Ms.Shalin and Ms Pershibha coordinated and accompanied with students. The event was a huge success with over 50 participants.
