The Department of Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), successfully organized the Safran Graduate Engineer Trainee Programme – Course Completion Ceremony on 4th February 2026 at KS Moorthy Hall. The ceremony marked the formal culmination of an intensive and industry-oriented training programme conducted in collaboration with Safran, aimed at enhancing the technical competence and professional readiness for industry needs.
The programme began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu invoking an auspicious start to the event. This was followed by the Welcome Address and an overview of the Safran Training Programme delivered by Dr. R. Asokan, Dean, Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering, HITS. He highlighted the objectives, structure, and outcomes of the programme, emphasizing its alignment with industry standards and the evolving needs of the aerospace sector.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Vikas Misra, Vice Chancellor, HITS. He appreciated the collaborative efforts between academia and industry and underscored the importance of such structured training programmes in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. He also congratulated the trainees for their dedication and successful completion of the programme followed with certificate distribution.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. P. Vasanthakumar, Head of the Department, Aerospace Engineering, HITS, along with acknowledgements by Dr. Muthukumar Subramanian, Registrar, and Dr. Murali Krishna M., Director – IQAC.
The training curriculum was comprehensive and multidisciplinary, covering both core and specialized subjects delivered by experienced faculty members and technical experts. The areas included Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Fundamentals, Digital Techniques and Electronic Instrumentation, Materials and Hardware, Maintenance Practices, Human Factors, Civil Aviation Requirements and Regulatory Framework, Gas Turbine Engines, and extensive Airframe Laboratory and hands-on training. This robust curriculum ensured that the trainees.
