Pals Lecture Series On “Blockchain Technology Demystified”

PALS Acquire Lecture Series on “Blockchain Technology Demystified” was addressed by Dr. Raghavendra Prasad Venkataraman, MD & CEO, AstraQuark DigiSolutions Pvt. Ltd. on 07 Feb. 2020 at HITS campus.Dr. Raghavendra shared his 25 years of experience with the audience and gave a deep insight on Blockchain Technology. His briefedon the multiple blocks strung together in a blockchain that store information about transactions; and how each block stores a unique code called a “hash” that allows us to tell it apart from every other block. When a block stores new data it is added to the blockchain, it becomes very difficult to edit and impossible to delete; and turns publicly available for anyone to view. Blockchain technology accounts for the issues of security and trust in several ways: it is tamper proof and cannot be hacked.Dr.Raghavendra alsodiscussed about various applications of Blockchain Technology in the field of Asset Management, Insurance,Payments, Smart Appliances, and Personnel Identification etc. and stressed it could become a powerful tool for improving business, conducting fair trade, democratizing the global economy, and helping support more open and fair societies. Students from HITS and other member Institutes of PALS attended the event.
