The School of Law and Fem Power, HITS organized a painting, debate, and elocution contest for students based on discrimination against women—Pakhwada (a Government Initiative). The contest was open to all students, and only one entry was permitted for "Painting depicting discrimination against women in various walks of life." The submission deadline was set for Tuesday, December 2, 2022, before 11 p.m. Painting, elocution, and debate were held on 8 December 2022. Students from various departments participated in the competition fervently. The judges for the events were Ms. Maghna Praseeda, School of Law and Mr.Ben Milton, Department of Languages. The objective of the program was to create awareness on discrimination against women (a government initiative called Pakhwada) and to make the students think creatively and think about the social issues.
The results were announced on the same day, and prizes were distributed to the winners. Dr. Akkara Sherine, HoD Department of Languages and Head, Fem power. Dr. Sherine Joy, Head Languages & Rankings, Dr. Jessy Rooby, Professor, Civil Dept., HITS, and Dr. Geni Philipose, AP, SG, Law, were the coordinators for the event.
