Open House 2019

“Open House 2019” was organized for schools across Chennai city on 25 October 2019. Around 740 students from 13 schools comprising class 10, 11 and 12; and 40 staff members visited HITS during the open house. Both school students and their teachers explored various facets of HITS and got an opportunity to interact with HITS’ faculty and students; and also an insight of the academic and research programmes offered by the various departments, and information on the extra-curricular activities while experiencing the aura of the campus. Lectures, project displays, department and lab visits showcasing the infrastructure and students’ academic, research and extra-curricular facilities were also a part of the event. Besides, two exclusive workshops on “Opportunities to Mechanical Engineers”, “Robotics in Daily Life and Application of Artificial Intelligence” were conducted. Shri. V. Nandakumar IRS, Addl. Commissioner of Income Tax, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India presided the event as chief guest and shared useful tips on goal setting, self-confidence and concentration techniques. A cultural programme was organized as a concluding phase of the programme. Dr. A. Anitha, Prof. & Head, Chemical Engg.; Dr. A. Krishnakumari, Prof. Mechanical Engg.; and Dr. R. Christu Paul, Prof., Automobile Engg. Coordinators of the event ensured the day was resourceful and well-reciprocated by students letting them consider HITS as their prime place for education.
