The National conference on Artificial Intelligence (NCAI-2020) was conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology) and MIDARC (Machine Intelligence and Data Analytics Research Centre) on 27/2/2020 and 28/2/2020. The conference aimed at providing a platform to discuss the recent trends and technologies in Artificial Intelligence. It also promoted and showcased the research interests of students, researcher scholars and academicians in the field of intelligent information systems. The department aims and strives to the need of the students by organising such conferences, seminars and workshops in accordance with the emerging trends and technologies. MIDARC is a research centre at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, which promotes and incubates research articulates in machine learning and Data Analytics. It caters to the need of the researchers, faculty and students related to the field.
The conference was inaugurated on 27th February 2020, at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, by the Chief Guest Professor Andrea Semani?ová-Fe?ov?íková, Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Technical University in Košice. Some of her interesting and acknowledged works include, a 3-total edge product cordial labeling of a carbon nanotube network, Super d-antimagic labeling of toroidal fullerens, Zk-magic labeling of path union of graphs etc. Ms. Andrea delivered a talk on the importance of mathematics in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The Guest of Honour for the inauguration was Mr. Vaidyanathan J.R, Senior Vice President & Global Head, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Hexaware Technologies. He is a visionary leader and a pioneer in transforming Business Intelligence and Analytics eco-systems by bringing in effective automation and cloudifying them. He delivered the keynote address on Artificial Intelligence Tools and its Application. Through interactive visuals and videos, Mr. Vaidyanathan highlighted the interesting facts of the applications of artificial intelligence right from healthcare, Autonomous Vehicles, Image reconstruction.
He also briefed the audience on the ongoing projects in AI at Hexaware technologies. He was also accompanied by Mr. Soundararajan, Business Analytics and Business Intelligence. The delegates put forward their queries and had a very good interaction session with the team.
The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Dr.K.P. Issac. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Rajeswari Mukesh, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Dr. Selvi Rajendran, briefed the delegates on the objectives of the conference and also provided the schedule and agenda. The conference had received papers from students, research scholars and faculty from various institutions across India. It had received almost 200 papers and was scrutinized to 54 papers by the review committee. The papers were based on predictive analysis, data analytics, machine learning and deep learning. The papers were spilt into four different sessions in the consecutive two days, headed by session chairs from various realms of institutions and industry. It included keynote speakers from the IT industry. Mr. Anandakumar Mohan, Technical Solutions Architect, IBM, spoke about the recent technologies of Artificial Intelligence. Mr. Narendra Babu, Project Manager, I-Task Technologies, Chennai, brought about the importance of software technologies in recent trends. Mr. Vijay Anand, Asst. Vice President-Technology, ALTRAN Technologies, Chennai, delivered a session talk on Human Computer Collaboration and its technologies.
Thus on the overall, the conference included knowledge sharing on the topics related to artificial intelligence and its tools, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence and Human Computer Collaboration. It provided an opportunity and insight for the academicians and the researchers to discuss the research issues and the progress in the areas of artificial intelligence and its Applications, Cognitive Informatics, Pattern Recognition and Machine learning, Information Systems, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence and Smart System Developments.
