The MoU between Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science and Royal Enfield, Chennai was signed by Dr. Ashok G. Verghese, Director, HITS; and Mr. Rajeev Sharma, CHRO, Royal on 8 April 2022. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Pro Chancellor, HITS presided over the ceremony. Dr. M. Jaikumar, Head, Automobile Engineering highlighted the key objectives of MoU which is to impart high end industrial training to the students and faculty members in the emerging areas of two-wheeler technology for better employability; and support innovators & potential young entrepreneurs by setting up a state-of-art National Training Centre at Hindustan campus. The MoU will facilitate workshop, training classroom and conference hall for hands-on-training. As a part of the MoU, HITS will provide built space and other facilities required for setting up the RE National Training Centre. RE will also provide an opportunity to the students, scholars, and faculty members to conduct research and projects in two-wheeler technology and to develop several advanced applications. Further, RE will provide internship and job opportunities to the students of HITS and other institutions as well.
