Students Internship / Vocational training at Tractors and Farm Equipment’s Limited (TAFE-PTC)
An 8-member team consisting of students from 3rd year, B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering of HITS underwent Students Internship Programme / Vocational training at Tractors and Farm Equipment’s Limited – Product Training Centre (TAFE-PTC) between 25 November and 22nd December 2022 (4 Week) at Pudupakkam, Tamil Nadu.
The first day of the program started with Orientation by Mr. S. Ganesh Kumar (PTC) who briefed about TAFE Product Training Centre. The entire internship program was divided into several sectional weeks.
The first week of the training included Engine which was handled by the Mr. Nagarajan. He explained us about the tractor engine and also the different engines used and manufactured by TAFE. The students also gained practical knowledge in assembling and dismantling the whole engine. The second week of the training included Transmission which was categorised into different parts i.e. clutch, gearbox, brakes etc. The rest of the training program was handled by Mr. Milton on electrical and electronics, CRDI and the field training section of the training. The students were also experiencing on-field operations with tractors on many sessions.
Mr.RamgopalPanigrahi, Associate Vice President, TAFE (PTC) visited frequently and encouraged the students. The internship training program was a great experience with a lot of practical and theoretical experience about different parts of not only tractor but automobile as a whole.
