The International Women's Day was celebrated on 6 March 2023. The event was organized by the Women Empowerment Cell and the Career and Professional Development Center. The Chief guest was Ms. Nina John, Corporate Trainer, Communication Catalyst & Coach.
A Panel Discussion titled “Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality" was conducted to commemorate the celebration. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Akkara Sherine, Head Languages and Rankings. The Panelists were: Ms. Nina John, the Chief Guest; Ms. Rophia Rose, Senior Manager, Cognizant; Ms. Vaishnavi Vignesh Raja, Director, EQuad Engineering Services; Ms. Archana Rajamanickam, Strategic HR Leader, E-Con Systems; and Ms. Barghavi Thirumalai, Assistant Manager – Human Resources, Keller Groups. The Panelists engaged the audience with their scholarly ideas and deliberations.
The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Kavitha Vijayaraghavan, Head Placement. Dr. Alexander Jesudasan, Pro Vice Chancellor in his speech stressed on the importance of celebrating women's day. The Chief Guest in her Presidential address appreciated the Institution for conducting events to mark the celebration of Women’s Day. Furthermore, competitions such as digital poster, debate and memes were conducted for students based on the International Women's Day Theme: “DigitALL Innovation and Technology for Gender Equity” and prizes were distributed for students at the end of the event.
