Chinese New Year, also known as the “Spring Festival” in modern China, is celebrated in countries and territories with significant Chinese populations, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mauritius, Australia, and the Philippines. And Korea and Japan also celebrate on the same day as Lunar New year. According to the Chinese 12-year animal zodiac cycle, the Chinese year beginning in 2020 is the year of the Rat. Hindustan International Students Club (HISC) members were involved in songs, paper crafts, writing couplets and 'Jegichagi' (Shuttlecock-kicking) with all students on 24 January 2020. A big-size of Korean pears were provided to HISC participants.
