In continuation of the collaboration between HITS and Swiss School of Business and Management, Geneva (SSBM), Dr. Minja Bolesnikov, VP – International Affairs of SSBM, visited HITS campus on 1 and 2 August 2023 and delivered International Seminars and Workshop to the faculty and students of HITS.
A faculty development program on Building Sustainable Business Models in the Digital Era: Industry Insights was held on 1 August 2023. The resource person Dr. Minja Bolesnikov emphasized that in the digital era, sustainable business models integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations. Leveraging technology, companies can optimize use of resources, minimize waste, and engage with stakeholders transparently. Moreover, Dr. Bolesnikov pointed out that subscription services, circular economy approaches, and platform-based collaborations are emerging as effective strategies. He also insisted that these models prioritize long-term viability over short-term gains, fostering innovation while minimizing the ecological footprint. He concluded that embracing sustainability not only enhances brand reputation but also contributes to a resilient and prosperous future.
The staff and students of the School of Management attended an International Seminar on Global opportunities for Higher Education delivered by Dr. Bolesnikov on 2 August 2023 (forenoon). He informed that the undergraduate students of Liberal Arts have unprecedented global opportunities for higher education. Opportunities like international exchange programs, online courses from renowned foreign institutions, and cultural diversity in top universities enhance a student’s learning experience. Such global engagement fosters creativity, cross-cultural understanding, and networking, enriching students both personally and professionally.He explained in detail about the opportunities provided by SSBM and he appealed the students to utilize the partnership between HITS and SSBM for their global mobility.
Dr.Minja, being a passionate professional from automobile sector delivered a seminar on the “Future of Mobility” to the students of MBA, Automobile and Mechanical Engineering on 2 August 2023 (afternoon). He said that the future of mobility lies in the digitalization of the automobile sector. Advanced technologies like IoT, AI, and autonomous systems are reshaping vehicles into smart, interconnected entities. He shared about several technologies from self-driving cars to predictive maintenance, digitalization enhanced safety, efficiency, and user experience. Dr. Bolesnikov said that these were transforming transportation models. He opined that this shift not only reduces emissions but also redefines the relationship between individuals, vehicles, and urban infrastructure, shaping a sustainable and convenient mobility landscape.
