I had the privilege to go to Singapore along with MBA 2017-19 batch students as a part of study tour between 30 Nov. and 5 Dec. 2018. Singapore, an island city-state is a global financial centre with a tropical climate and multicultural population. Singaporeis constantly evolving, reinventing, and reshaping itself, with people who are passionate about creating new possibilities. The city-state is a global hub for education, entertainmentfinance, healthcare, human capital, innovation, logistics, manufacturing, technology, tourism, trade, and transport. Some of the place we visited are given below:
The Sun Tech City is a major multi-use project located in Marina Centre, a subzone of the Downtown Core in Singapore. The five buildings and its convention centre are designedin such a wayto project the image of left hand when aerially viewed. The Fountain of Wealth appears like a golden ring in the palm of the hand. As the fountain is made of bronze, it is believed that the balance of metal and water paves the way for success. Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort facing Marina Bay in Singapore,NEWater is the brand name given to reclaim the water produced by Singapore’s Public Utilities Board. More specifically, it treatssewage waste water by using dual-membrane and ultraviolet technologies, in addition to the conventional water treatment processes. The water is potable and is consumed by humans, but is mostly used by industries requiring high purity water.
My unforgettable exhilarating moment in Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore. It features 28 rides, shows and attractions in seven themed zones. It was a key components of Genting’s bid for the right to build Singpore’s second integrated resort.I experienced world’s tallest duelling roller coasters BattlestarGalactica, indoor coaster Revenge of the Mummy and Transformers the Ride: The ultimate 3D Battle. Part of the excitement was the Water World, I witnessed death-defying stunts, awesome explosions and thrills at this sensational live water show.
My international University visit gave mean electrifying experience. Firstly, I visited Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, a research-intensive public universitythat accommodates 33,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students in the colleges for Engineering, Business, Science and Humanities, Arts and Science. NTU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine was established jointly with imperial College London. In 2018, NTU was placed 12th globally in the QS World University Rankings. I later visited PSB Academy, housing over 12,000 students from over 50 nationalities with certificate in diploma, degree and postgraduate programmes every year. I also took part in the live International Case Studies and was fortunate enough to receivethe best participation award from PSG Academy. My third visit was to Kaplan University, Singapore. It began withMr.Jay Hasmukh Shah, Market Development Manager, Kaplan Higher Education Academy explaining the features of Kaplan University and also the culture of Singapore such as the expatriates experience in Singapore.
My international study tour to Singapore, greatly enhanced my overall idea of culture, history, society, education, politics and economics of the society in general.
