W. K. Kellogg Food Analysis Laboratory of the Department of Food Technology was inaugurated by Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder, Infosys; and Dr. R. W. Alexander Jesudasan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, HITS at Jublee Block (Room No. JB416) on 5 March 2022. The laboratory is equipped with an array of sophisticated analytical equipment capable of analyzing a wide range of chemical and microbiological analysis in food samples.
At the inaugural ceremony, Pro-Vice Chancellor had addressed the gathering and complimented the Department of Food Technology for delivering a laboratory of international standards and advised to make good use of the facility for research and food technology students. Dr. S. A. O. Adeyeye, Associate Professor, described the rationale behind the establishment of the new laboratory and demonstrated all instrument in the laboratory. The other dignitaries who spoke this occasion included Dr. Ashok G. Verghese, Director who had appreciated the department for the commitment. Also, he cherished the coffee processing and wine production models prepared by the food technology students. The laboratory has been equipped with Incubator, Hot Air Oven, Mechanical Stirrer, Muffle Furnace, Digital Viscometer, Tray Dryer, Soxhlet Extraction Unit and many more.
